Driver of Tractor Trailer Walks Away with Minor Injuries After Going Down Embankment

A driver of a tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries after going down a forty-meter embankment north of Williams Lake.

Williams Lake RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron said the northbound Freightliner that was hauling mail went off Highway 97 and down an embankment ending up behind a home on Commodore Crescent before 3 am Tuesday morning.

Investigation of the incident will now be conducted by British Columbia Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement.

“We just took the log book from the driver and gave it to CVSE, and they said they were going to inspect it,” Byron said.
