Investigation Leads to Recovery of Stolen Property near 100 Mile

100 Mile RCMP are looking for information regarding a string of break-ins.

Police say the incidents occurred Wednesday, March 20.

A red Arctic Cat side by side, as well as other items, were stolen from a residence on Higgins road.

A second break-in occurred at about 2:30 AM in the 6900 block of Barett road near Lone Butte. Gas cans and chain saws were taken, but the property owner awoke and interrupted the thieves.

“A dark pickup fled westbound,” said Sgt. Don McLean.

“The license plate from the side by side was found on Barett road.”

A third break-in was reported on a property on Fawn Lake road the same day. Investigators found a helmet from the side by side theft, as well as tracks which they followed.

“The missing side by side was recovered by Irish lake,” McLean said.

RCMP continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact the detachment or Crimestoppers.
