Dust Advisory Ends for Williams Lake and Quesnel

A dust advisory was lifted Sunday morning for Williams Lake and Quesnel.

“Changing meteorological conditions have improved conditions across the region,” stated the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in collaboration with the local health authorities.

An air quality advisory due to fine particulate matter also ended for Quesnel.

Air quality meteorologist Ralph Adams said the advisories that were in effect for the past couple of days are fairly normal for this time of year due to winter road traction materials drying out.

“When vehicles drive over it and past it, the dust is entrained up into the air,” he said.
