The Cariboo Regional will be taking steps to ensure that changes to current recycling regulations are made.
The current regulations do not cover some recyclable materials properly, and CRD chair Margo Wagner says changes need to be made as more people are now recycling.
“The problem is that there’s a lot of stuff that could be recycled but they’re not currently recycling,” she says.
The CRD board, as well as several other regional districts, will be writing a letter to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy George Heyman, requesting changes and improvements.
The Board will also talk with the Minister at the next UBCM convention in September.
