In weekend sports in 100 Mile House, the Lac la Hache Funspiel curling event is taking place at the 100 Mile Curling Club Saturday.
Hetty Wright is one of the organizers, and says Funspiel started at the arena in Lac la Hache about 16 years ago, but was moved to the 100 Mile Curling Club because the hockey at the arena roughed up the ice too much for the curlers.
Wright says 14 teams will be competing this year, with the top prize being $100 per person. The action gets underway at 8 am.
