RCMP Urge Public Not To Leave Children Unattended After Child Left In Vehicle At Walmart

With the warmer weather, Williams Lake RCMP are reminding the public not to leave children unattended in vehicles.

RCMP S/Sgt. Del Byron says a passerby alerted police Wednesday afternoon that a one and a half-year-old child was left in a car at Walmart while the mother shopped.

It is not clear how long the child remained in the vehicle.

Environment Canada said March 20 was the third day of record-breaking daily maximum temperatures across B.C.

Williams Lake set a new record of 17.8 degrees beating its old record of 14.6 set in 1999.

Bryon says police issued a warning to the parent and the Ministry of Children and Family Development were notified.
