The City of Williams Lake welcomed a new member to their staff.

Guillermo Angel started his new role on Monday as Corporate Engagement Officer.

“It’s been reintroduced to the City due to necessity, and of course as the City develops and of course as communication becomes ever more important to maintain they realized it was important to maintain a permanent fixture for communications,” Angel said.

Angel will be responsible for implementing effective communications strategies, sourcing and securing grant funding for the City and providing official communication channels for Mayor and Council, as well as digital media management responsibilities.

Angel comes from Kelowna where he was involved in a number of organizations at a leadership level, assisting with the implementation of successful communications strategies and directives.

Prior to returning to Williams Lake a year ago where his spouse is from, Angel worked at RBC Royal Bank.

“We are excited to bring Guillermo on board,” said Milo MacDonald, Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Williams Lake.

“He will bring with him a renewed communications strategy for the City and a diversified approach to relationship development with our strategic
partners across the city and province.”
