DUST ADVISORY ISSUED FOR QUESNEL

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Canada, in collaboration with Northern Health, issued the advisory at three o’clock on Monday afternoon.

It says high concentrations of dust are expected to continue until there is some precipitation or dust suppression,

Dust concentrations, as expected, are highest around busy roads and industrial operations.

Exposure to dust is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease.

Persons with underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise near busy roads until the advisory is lifted.

Concentrations of PM-10 is sitting at around 64 micrograms per cubic metre over the past 24 hours.

An advisory is issued at 50 micrograms per cubic metre.

By comparison, Williams Lake is sitting at 30.1 and Prince George at 29.9
