Williams Lake RCMP Respond to Break and Enter in Progress at Beer and Wine Store

The glass on two doors was broken after suspects attempted to gain entry to the Comer Station Beer and Wine Store in Williams Lake.

RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress early Friday morning (March 15) and said the suspects fled prior to police arriving.

A spokesperson for the Store said they were alerted of the incident at around 3 am when staff at the neighboring Comer Station Convenience Store who were doing inventory heard the alarms go off.

She said four male suspects used a rock and a baseball bat to attempt to gain entry.

“I’m just glad they didn’t get past the lobby, and it’s pretty sad that stuff like this is happening and it’s not a shock when it happens,” she said.

“It’s just a thing of eye rolling like really seriously you guys have nothing better to do at three thirty in the morning then to break windows at a beer store?”

RCMP ask anyone with information to call the Williams Lake detachment at (250) 392-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222-8477. Crime Stoppers also subscribes to web tips at www.bccrimestoppers.com.
