Various Property Missing after Break in of a Vanderhoof Area Home

Various stolen items remain missing following a break and enter to a Cluculz Lake home near Vanderhoof.

“Back on the 24th of February residents discovered their home had been broken into and numerous property was taken including a Kawasaki side by side,” said North District RCMP media relations Corporal Madonna Saunderson.

“They immediately reported it to the police and an investigation ensued, and a few days later on the 28th, this Kawasaki was discovered in Williams Lake.”

Charged with one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000 is 29-year-old Nicholas Ivany from Williams Lake.

Ivany was arrested after multiple search warrants executed by RCMP last month at a Williams Lake residence on Windmill Crescent resulted in the seizure of a stolen side by side, five firearms, and suspected quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

Saunderson said RCMP are looking to speak to anyone who may have any information on the break and enter or where the outstanding property may be.

“The police did have video surveillance as well, but we’re certainly looking for the public’s help on this,” Saunderson said.

“There was an awful lot of property stolen, and although not known for sure it’s quite likely that the suspect or suspects may have been in possession of a vehicle during the commission of this offence.”
