Update Monday, March 11: A homicide investigation is underway in 100 Mile House.

Police say they received a 911 call on Sunday morning at around 10 o’clock that a male had been shot in a residence on Cedar Street.

Officers responded and located a deceased adult male.

The North District Major Crime Unit took over the investigation and police can now confirm that it is believed to be a homicide.

RCMP say the residence is well known to them and although the investigation is in its early stages, there is no information to suggest that the general public is at risk.

Names have not been released.

RCMP  closed off a residence and a section of Cedar Avenue in 100 Mile House between first and third street.

The street was cordoned early Sunday and was still closed as of 10 pm.

No information has yet been released on the incident.
