100 MILE RCMP CONCERNED ABOUT BERM

100 Mile House RCMP have received a complaint of a berm being created across Watson Lake.

Police say it is along the usual landing path of local pilots to land and take off from during the winter months, although they believe it was created sometime between March 2nd and 3rd to keep snowmobilers from using the lake.

RCMP say it appears the berm was made with a side by side (ATV) with a track kit along with a snow plow.

The berm is estimated to be over 200 metres in length, .5 to 1 metres in height and has created large holes in the ice along the normal landing area.

Police say the complainant has marked the area on the lake to warn pilots off from using the area as a landing strip.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP or Crimestoppers.
