Helicopters will be flying soon in the area of the 108 Ranch where fuel mitigation work is being done.
CRD area G director Al Richmond says logging is being done by helicopter in sensitive areas and areas difficult to log conventionally. Sarver Air will start early next week. “We’re going to do it by heli-logging to minimize damage to the terrain” Richmond says.
He says 140 hectares of the work will have been completed by the end of March. The next step will be putting in further firebreaks to further safeguard the area.
