On Wednesday February 27, 2019, the man from the pickup attended the Quesnel RCMP Detachment and provided his version of the event.
The police are concluding their investigation and are satisfied the man’s intent was not to scare or harm the boy.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Quesnel RCMP are seeking information in connection with an incident near Dragon Lake Elementary School yesterday morning between 7-40 and 7-45 am.
Police say a 14 year old boy was waiting at the bus stop on Quesnel Hydraulic Road near the school, when he was approached by a man in a pickup truck who offered him a ride.
The boy declined and the man drove off.
The man is described as a Caucasian in his mid 50’s to early 60’s, clean cut, and wearing a brown work jacket.
Police say he was driving a black early to mid 2000’s four door Ford Pickup.
While the RCMP say they are not deeming the occurrence as suspicious, they would like to speak to the man to determine his intentions.
