Today marked the first full day of classes for many students across the province.

Mark Thiessen, Superintendent of School District 27, says even though yesterday might have only been a half day for students, excitement was in the air.

“I’ve talked to a few different schools and we’re pretty excited to get back going…everybody, is happy to have buildings full of life once again.”

Thiessen adds even students who might not want to admit it are happy as well.

“It’s a long three months since they’ve been in school ..I think, whatever their thoughts are about going back to class and having homework and all of those kinds of things, students are happy to see their friends and whether they would admit it or not, students are happy to be learning again.”

Thiessen adds he does not expect the back to school excitement to end anytime soon.
