FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO STRUCTURE FIRE IN QUESNEL

The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department were called to Gassoff Road at around 6 o’clock last night.

Fire Chief Sylvain Gauthier…

“Upon arrival of the duty officers, heavy smoke was seen coming from underneath the trailer and the fire was contained rapidly by the crew arriving on scene.”

Gauthier says they have already figured out the cause of the fire…

“In the end just minor damage on the side of the trailer, basically a heating system was trying to keep the pipe from freezing and it just created a little bit of damage, so minor damage and a bit of smoke inside the trailer.”

Gauthier says the occupants were home at the time and made it out safely without suffering from smoke inhalation.

He says it was good timing as they already had firefighters at the fire hall as they were getting ready for practice last night.

26 members responded.
