100 Mile Fire Recruiting

Members of 100 Mile House Fire Rescue will be answering questions from potential recruits.

February is the department’s annual recruitment drive and members will be at Save On Foods and Safeway this weekend.

Fire chief Roger Hollander says the department will also be at the Wrangler home games this month as well as holding an information session at the fire hall on Thursday, Feb. 21.

“Each year we recruit and we’re looking forward to it training new members and seeing new faces,” he says.

“We’re looking for about eight men and women to join our great team.”

Hollander says 100 Mile Fire Rescue is a paid-on-call department, and members do receive a wage for training.

Recruits need to be at least 18 years of age, have a valid drivers license, and live within the fire protection area.
