The Central Cariboo Search and Rescue (CCSAR) will be showcasing what it means to be a member.

PR and social coordinator Debra Bortolussi says they are recruiting for their land search and rescue team and will be hosting an open house tomorrow (Saturday, Feb 9).

“When you really come and you see what we do, when you see the large scope of training, of equipment, of experiences that you can have, I think it really gets people excited for it,” she says.

“The thing is people realize the time commitment and the dedication that you also have to have to be a member because we are volunteers.”

Bortolussi says to become a full-fledged member you need to be 19 years of age.

Tomorrow’s open house will from 10 am until 2 pm at the Central Cariboo Search and Rescue Hall located on Mackenzie Avenue in Williams Lake.
