No Serious Injuries in Two-Vehicle Collision South of 100 Mile

Traffic flow on Highway 97 south of 100 Mile House was reduced Thursday morning due to a motor vehicle incident.

Chief of 100 Mile Fire Rescue, Roger Hollander said members responded to the two-vehicle incident at approximately 8:52 am.

“This was a serious collision just on the overpass of the train tracks south of town near Ainsworth Road,” he said.

“We did respond with a couple of apparatus. Upon arrival, we did have one patient entrapped in the vehicle and our team was able to extricate that patient with no further incident.”

100 Mile RCMP Cpl. Jason Nash said the southbound Dodge pickup crossed the center line and collided with a northbound Chevrolet pickup.

Although three people were sent to hospital, there were no serious injuries.

Highway 97 was closed for about an hour as crews cleared the scene.

“The road was snow covered and slippery due to the changing temperatures,” Nash said.

“RCMP remind people to adjust their speed for road conditions this time of year.”
