It was a big day in Williams Lake on Saturday with 13 teams of adults racing across the community to solve clues and complete tasks at ten different check points to raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club.
Executive Director Matt Neufeld,  says the idea to hold this year’s 1st Race for Kids event came together a year ago.
“We were looking online and it’s a national fundraiser. Forty Boys and Clubs across Canada do this event so we thought it would be a nice event to do in town.”
Neufeld says after talking with participants and staff, people had a lot of fun.
“We raised probably just a bit over $20,000, I’m not too sure yet. It’s definitely something we’d do again.”
All the money raised from Saturday’s event goes into programs that are run at the Boys and Girls Club.
