West Fraser Timber plant 4,588 trees in one hour attempt to help break a world record

It will be sometime before the results will be known if a team from West Fraser Timber in Williams Lake will have helped break a world record for the most trees planted in one hour.

Silviculture Supervisor, Guy Burdikin, says the team put in a huge effort on Wednesday.

“We had 39 planters and we achieved 4,588 trees planted in one hour.”

“We will find out probably sometime after June 5th when they collate all the plants that have been planted simultaneously whether we’ve been able to achieve the tree planting record or not.”

West Fraser, was one of 30 teams from the U.S and Canada, that took part in Wednesday’s attempt.
