Defending Champions Up Next For Local Rink At Provincial Curling Championships In Quesnel

Local rink is getting ready to take on the defending provincial champions at the BC Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships in Quesnel.

The Brady Waffle foursome, 0 and 2 and on the ropes, will play the Sean Geall rink from Abbotsford in the C-event at 2 o’clock on sheet A at the West Fraser Centre.

Gael, the 2009 champion as well, is 1 and 2 so far and is also facing elimination.

Meanwhile, the A-event final is underway this morning.

7-time BC Champion Jim Cotter out of Vernon and Kelowna, is playing the Jason Montgomery rink out of Victoria.

The winner will advance directly into the one-two game in the Page playoff system.

There is quite a logjam at the top of the women’s round-robin standings.

Sarah Wark’s Abbotsford foursome lead the way at 3 and 1 and then there are three teams tied at 2 and 1.

The top four of eight will advance to the playoffs.
