The Chair of the Williams Lake Business Improvement Association will be stepping down in July.
Jan Hermiston who has been the Chair of the Association for the past 7 years, says she wants to focus on her business J&E Gifts and Treasures with Elaine Winslow.
She says she believes that the future of the downtown core is positive.
“I can see big things happening.”
“Right now we’re in a little bit of a slump, but we’ve been here before and we’ve come out bigger and better also.”
“We have a lot of enthusiastic young people that are wanting to be on our board; they have big ideas, they’ll take us to the next level.”
Hermiston says the Association will be posting a billboard south of town on Highway 97 to let travelers know about the downtown core this year.
