The numbers are in from yesterday’s annual Paws For A Cause.
Liz Dighton, Manager of the Williams Lake and district branch SPCA, says despite smaller turnout, the crowd was very giving in supporting their four-legged and furry friends.
“It looked a bit lower than previous years, but the people that came out were high energy and certainly wanted to make a difference for the animals here.”
Dighton, adds that every dollar raised from the event will go a long way in helping the SPCA continue their work.
“We get no provincial funding or federal funding…everything is provided by donations. They’re our only source of income…Donations keep us going and keep us afloat and that is how we help the animals.”
A total of $8242.48Â was raised from the event.
