Getting into the Stampede Spirit

The City of Williams Lake is looking to get into the Stampede spirit following a presentation with the 2015 Stampede Queen Contestants and proclaiming next month as Stampede Season at Tuesday’s regular City Council meeting.

Mayor Walt Cobb says he thinks it’s great.

“The stampede is what made Williams Lake famous so I think we have to carry on with it.”

“I know I’m really involved with pancake breakfast and steak-outs and all that kind of stuff.”

“It’s a fun weekend, it’s a family weekend, there are lots of things to do.”

“I encourage everyone to get their cowboy duds on.”

From June 1st to June 30th residents are encouraged to: decorate their places of business in western decor, wear western clothing, support the Stampede Association in their many endeavors whenever possible, and extend a friendly Cariboo smile and hearty welcome to all visitors.

The 3 Stampede Queen contestants were also officially announced:

  • Paige Brinoni, Miss Titchener Contracting
  • Stephanie Warnock, Miss Minton Creek Ranch
  • Cheyleigh Sand, Miss Daybreak Rotary

The 89th Williams Lake Stampede will be held June 26th-29th.
