Employees at the Quesnel River Pulp were evacuated yesterday morning following a fire.
Director of Emergency Services for the City of Quesnel, Slyvain Gauthier says the structure fire left damage to the roof and 4th floor.
“Basically what it was some is some equipment created a spark and some dust caught fire.”
“It just created little bits of fireballs and kept going to different locations which created a little bit of a fire inside.”
The Department had responded to the call at around 9:30 am and had the blaze extinguished in about 2 hours.
Gauthier says the Department responded to a similar fire in nature over the at weekend MDF plant at 7:30 am Saturday morning which took crews roughly 5 1/2 hours to extinguish.
