Charges laid in Likely homicide

Charges have been laid in a homicide investigation in which the body of Gary Price was recovered from a local property in Likely.

RCMP say that Price was reported missing by his family on March 3, 2013.

Investigators with the Williams Lake RCMP and North District Major Crime Section conducted extensive inquiries throughout the community of Likely and were able to determine that Price was last seen alive on February 23, 2013.

On September 19, 2014, Price’s body was recovered.

Crown Counsel approved charges of Manslaughter and Indignity to Human Remains against 54-year-old Guy William Smith of Likely, B.C. and a Canada Wide Warrant was issued for his arrest on May 4, 2015.

Smith was arrested in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan the following day.
