Suspect Frightened Off

100 Mile House RCMP are looking for a male suspect who was scared off while attempting to steal a vehicle.

The incident happened in the 5700 block of horse lake road on November 18th, at about 2 AM.
Police say the suspect was frightened off by the owner of the vehicle. RCMP called in the police dog unit from Williams Lake to assist, and a track was found, but lost a distance away.

Police are looking for a male Caucasian suspect, 5’5 with a stocky build, wearing a black hat.

They ask if anyone has any information on this incident to contact the 100 Mile detachment, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

I first got into radio when I was a kid when a friend and I made our own radio shows on cassete tapes. Growing up in 100 Mile House, I did a workstudy at this very station.

Thanks to some good advice from my radio mentor Larry Rode, I got a certificate in broadcast arts in 1991. After failing to break into radio after school, I did other jobs but kept my hand in, working as morning host and program director at my universitys station, WUFK in Fort Kent, Maine.

Coming back to 100 Mile, when the afternoon and news job opened up, I took the dive back into radio! When Larry retired after nearly 35 years in 100 Mile, I took over the morning show. I’m happy to be at CKBX, where I always wanted to work, and waking up my hometown!

Williams Lake RCMP arrest wanted man

RCMP arrested a wanted man who was a suspect in a violent break and enter that occurred last week. The man is being held in custody to appear before the court.

 The Independent Investigations Office of BC has determined that there are no reasonable grounds to believe that an officer committed an offence in the death of a man in Williams Lake RCMP jail cells.
