Evacuation Alert Lifted

The Cariboo Regional District has lifted the evacuation alert for residents in the Chelaslie River Arm and the Tatelkuz Lake Area.
Olivia Pojar, with the Northwest Center, says crews are still in the area continuing to extinguish the fire that is now 75% percent contained.
“There are currently 57 firefighters assigned to the fire, along with approximately 30 support staff, 5 pieces of heavy equipment and 8 helicopters.”
The Chelaslie River fire was the largest fire in BC this year at 133,100 hectares.
The area had been under an evacuation alert since July 29.
