City Councillors in Quesnel will be speaking frankly in the future after City Council passed a communication statement earlier this week.
Mayor Bob Simpson says it was important to him that members of council feel free to express opinions even dissenting ones.
“We passed a Council statement, a communications statement, just affirming the freedom of Council members to publicly state their opinions.”
“If that means they disagree with the majority then so be it.”
Simpson says his experience in party politics has helped colour his belief in this and that hard questions lead to better answers.
