Four People Injured In Accident That Closed Highway 97 In The South Cariboo

Clinton RCMP have now released some details about an accident that closed Highway 97 in the South Cariboo this morning.

Police say a collision between a Honda Accord and a Dodge Ram pickup that was pulling a travel trailer sent four people to hospital with what are being described as minor injuries.

It happened just after 7-30 about 9 kilometers north of 70 Mile.

Constable Tony DiMaggio confirms that one of the vehicles crossed the center line and collided with the other.

An investigation into what caused the accident continues, but DiMaggio says police do believe that it was weather-related as there was heavy slush on the road at the time.

The Highway was closed for around three hours.
