Armed robbery at 4th convenience store in less than two months

It’s becoming a common theme in Quesnel.
There was another armed robbery at a convenience store just after 5 o’clock this morning, the 4th one in less than two months.
Quesnel RCMP Sargent Darren Dodge says this latest incident occurred in the 200 block of Anderson Drive.
He says a lone male, described as six feet tall, medium build and wearing a black mask, entered the store with an ax.
Dodge says the suspect then left with a small amount of cash, lottery tickets, and cigarettes.
He says while it is similar to another armed robbery at the same store, RCMP can’s say for sure at this time if they are related.
As for what can be done by the store to try and prevent this from happening again, Dodge says their Community Policing Section is working with the management of the store to assess their crime prevention measures and to make any suggestions if need be.
He says RCMP are also increasing patrols in the area.
Dodge is also encouraging the public to give them a call if they see anything suspicious.
