Project shop class at work supporting local schools

The B.C Construction Association’s Project Shop Class is raising funds to upgrade skills training equipment in high schools across the province.
Gregg Drury, Senior Project Manager, says with the 1 million job openings primarily in trades expected by 2020, it is important to motivate young people with leading-edge state of the art technology.

Drury, says some schools are using equipment that is up to 50 years old and adds if we wait for a response from the provincial government the province will have a further shortage of skilled workers.

Project Shop Class is currently seeking to raise funds for 130 to 140 schools across the province, including Williams Lake Secondary and Columneetza Campus.

Further information on Project Shop Class and how you can donate is available through their website.
