Busy Billy Barker Days For Quesnel RCMP

Quesnel RCMP were kept busier than in past years with calls for service over the Billy Barker Weekend.

Sergeant Chris Riddle says from 6pm on Thursday July 19th until Monday July 23rd at 6 am Quesnel RCMP responded to the following:

173 calls for service
33 people were arrested for causing a disturbance or being intoxicated and unable to care for themselves in public
15 people were arrested for other criminal code offences
1 man was arrested for assaulting two police officers
49 people were held in cells
6 Immediate Roadside Prohibitions for alcohol related offences were issued

In Comparison to the same time period over Billy Barker Days in 2016:

149 calls for service
33 people were arrested for causing a disturbance or being intoxicated and unable to care for themselves in public
5 people were arrested for other criminal code offences
38 people were held in cells
4 Immediate Roadside Prohibitions for alcohol related offences were issued
