Williams Lake Will Not Host One Horse Town Concert

Disappointing news for Williams Lake today as Taber, Alberta has won the Coors Banquet One Horse Town contest.

The small community just outside of Lethbridge will now get to host a country music concert with Dallas Smith, Tim Hicks and Kira Isabella in September.

The winner was decided on-line by popular vote that closed on July 15th at midnight.

Williams Lake was one of six finalists

Mayor Walt Cobb, while admitting he’s disappointed, also says it was definitely a worthwhile experience…

“I think so, i think it was, it got people motivated. I would have like to have seen the concert here, but it got them motivated to get on-line and vote, anything where you can have fun and acknowledge other communities is great, the competition was good.”

Cobb says the coverage during the promotion of it was great for Williams Lake, adding that kind of recognition never hurts.
