UPDATE: CHARGES NOW LAID IN DEATH OF MAN IN QUESNEL

Charges have now been laid in connection with the death of a 48-year old man in Quesnel over the weekend.

32-year old Kristopher Edward Leclair has been charged with one count of second degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

Leclair remains in custody and will make his initial court appearance tomorrow in Prince George.

Quesnel RCMP were called to a residence on Hilborn Road in the Two Mile Flat area on Saturday after receiving a report that multiple individuals had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, police say they located a deceased man and a woman suffering from serious injuries.

The 52-year female was taken to hospital where at last report she was still in critical condition.

A suspect turned himself in later that day.

The North District Major Crime Unit has been called in to investigate.

Police say the victim and the suspects were known to each other.
