Cariboo Athletes Win Nine Medals At BC Summer Games

Four gold, one silver and four bronze.

That was the Cariboo’s medal haul at the BC Summer Games in Cowichan Valley.

Williams Lake’s Jadyn Johnston brought home three medals…a gold in the boys 400 metre freestyle, silver in the boys 4 by 50 metre relay and bronze in the 200 individual medley.

Quesnel’s William Swyers was also part of that silver medal winning relay team.

Still in the pool…Cristelle Panida and Gabrielle Knox from Williams Lake won bronze on the girls 4 by 50 relay.

In water sports, Alexee Gustafson and Lucas Pinette from Williams Lake won gold in the girls and boys slalom respectively.

Tyleen Scaiano from 150 Mile won gold in wrestling, Jaden Knight from 100 Mile House captured bronze in the boys javelin and the boy’s zone softball team also won bronze.

Jackson Hooper and Qunicy Archie from Canim Lake, Aidan Moore and Liam Edle from 100 Mile and Ethan Garland Jace Myers from Williams Lake were part of that team.
