Huge Crowds And Great Action At This Year’s Quesnel Rodeo

Cariboo competitors more than held their own at the 53rd annual Quesnel Rodeo over the Billy Barker Days weekend.

It was an exciting end to what was a very successful event after taking a year off due to the wildfires.

Quesnel’s Lane Cork capped things off with an 86 on the final Bull Ride of the rodeo on “Swervin Mervin”, one of just two 8 second rides on the weekend.

Micaiah Gordon from Quesnel had the other.

Cordell Pinchbeck from Williams Lake had the only ride all weekend in the Novice Bull Riding.

Steve Lloyd, from Quesnel, won the Team Roping along with Kyle Bell and Lloyd was also the runner-up in the Tie Down Roping to Cody Braaten of 150 Mile.

Veteran cowboy Steve Hohmann, from Quesnel, is this year’s champion in the Bareback.

Mckenzie Wills, formerly of Quesnel, was second in the Ladies Barrel Racing, Brittany Macdonald from the 150 won the Junior Barrels, and Amy Hume and Myles King captured the #8 Team Roping title.

This year’s Wild Horse Race Champions were the Allan Puhallo team from Quesnel.

More than 5 thousand people attended this year’s Quesnel Rodeo.
