Dancers and drumming were on display at the traditional Pow-Wow at the Canim Lake band over the weekend.
People came from as far away as Nevada to participate in the event, which has been held for over 30 years.
Chief Helen Henderson said in her welcome that the pow-wow is a tradition that has been adopted by the band as a celebration of the culture.
She said that they were glad to be able to hold the pow-wow, as last years event couldn’t go on due to the fires around the area.
