Musical Ride To Be Featured at Interlakes Rodeo Intermission

The Interlakes Rodeo will see the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride during its’ halftime show.

“We do have a lot of tourists that come to our rodeo so they’re pretty excited about it too,” says Interlakes Rodeo Club chairperson Carney Myers.

“We have put up our posters at all of the resorts and the local people some don’t even come to rodeos are excited about coming because of the RCMP. So we’re hoping to introduce a few people to the rodeo.”

Myers says the Musical Ride tours B.C every four years and that 2018 was the year they were going to be here, so they had applied for them to come.

“We did put our name in. You have to do it two years ahead and then if you are accepted they do come and visit your site,” she says noting they had changed the date of the Rodeo that is normally held on the August long weekend to accommodate the Ride.

“It’s very special and this year they are doing a lot of small towns.”

The Interlakes Rodeo runs Saturday and Sunday (July 21-July 22) starting at 1 pm.

You can find the rodeo grounds located at Hwy 24 and East Sheridan Lake Rd.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride’s next stop will be Burns Lake on Tuesday.
