First Time Win at Mud Drags

The 1st annual North West Mud Racing Association’s mud drags took place over the weekend near 100 Mile House.

One win was a special one, four years in the making.

Jessica Patterson and her 1977 Ford “Purple Haze” took first place in the street stock category.

The truck originally belonged to Patterson’s stepfather, then to her and her husband. After he passed away four years ago, a dedicated group of friends finished building the truck, so she could drive it drive it in the races.

This weekend was Pattersons first time racing, she says she was nervous for the first pass, but after that she had no problem.

She has no plans to go on the road, but will race again next year.
