Home invasion suspect makes court appearance

A 28-year old man, arrested in Williams Lake following a report of an interrupted break-in in Quesnel, has now appeared in court.

Clayton Micheal Hohmann is facing one count each of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Break and Enter, Assault, Theft of a Vehicle and Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle for the alleged incident in Quesnel.

He’s also charged with Flight from Police in connection with his arrest in Williams Lake.

Hohmann is accused of breaking into a home in the 500 block of Reid Street this past Saturday morning.

Quesnel RCMP says the suspect was interrupted by the homeowner and that a confrontation followed.

Police say the suspect then fled the scene in the homeowner’s vehicle.

A description of the stolen vehicle was sent out to neighboring detachments and just a couple of hours later Williams Lake RCMP received a call of a break and enter in progress at a residence on the Deep Creek First Nations reserve.

The suspect vehicle matched the one that was taken from Quesnel and an arrest was made.
