Williams Lake RCMP Investigating Church Fire at Tl’esqox

Williams Lake RCMP continues to investigate a church fire at a First Nations community located 40 km south west of Williams Lake.

Police were notified on July 14 at 5:33 am of a structure fire at Cotton Road church at Toosey Indian Band (Tl’esqox) on July 14 at 5:33 am.

“Upon arrival, police officers found the church partially burned to the ground,” said Sgt. Annie Linteau, Senior E Division media relations officer.

“Several community members had attempted to extinguished the fire but were not successful.”

No one was injured.
