Children to young teens gathered Thursday evening at Cariboo Chevrolet GM Buick to take part in an annual soap box derby.
“It was fantastic,” says General Manager Doug Peters.
“We had a lot of kids from the age of 2 all the way up to 15, we had customized units, we had go cart units, and we had a lots of help from Lorne Doerksen with Investors Group, Search and Rescue, Fire, and the RCMP.”
“The smiles on the kids faces last night were just incredible.”
Last year’s derby was cancelled due to the wildfires.
Peters adds that they’re hoping for a bigger and better derby next year, and to hold it in May.
“For certain we are doing it again for next year so I challenge anybody to try and get a soap box car built and join in the fun,” he says.
