Chimney Lake Host Site Of 2018 BC Water Ski Provincial Championships

Williams Lake is getting a “do over” this weekend when it comes to hosting the BC Water Ski Provincial Championships.

‘They were supposed to be here last year but obviously due to the wildfires they were supposed to be this exact weekend a year ago then we cancelled it and then we moved it a month away to August then there wasn’t enough security that the fires were clear,” says organizer Parnell Pinette.

“So we had to cancel it for the whole year so there wasn’t a 2017 water ski provincials last tear”.

Water skiers from all over the Province will be at Chimney Lake this Saturday and Sunday to face local competition, which includes Pinette’s son Conley.

There’s even a skier from England who won the overall Championship at the Junior Worlds last year.

The 2018 BC Water Ski Provincial Championships start Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:30.
