298 MVI Deaths Recorded in the Province Last Year

B.C’s Interior saw the most fatal vehicle crashes in 2017 according to the BC Coroners Service.

Last year 99 people died as a result of a motor vehicle incident in the Interior followed by the Fraser region at 63 and the Northern Region at 57.

The province altogether saw almost 300 motor vehicle deaths, and the Coroners Service says the worst months for MVI deaths on a percentage basis were July, August, and September.

It encourages motorists to “know before you go” and plan ahead before heading out.
