Verdict Is In For Quesnel Man Accused In Shooting

Guilty on all six counts.

That was the verdict handed down today to a Quesnel man who is accused of shooting a 38-year old woman.

Madame Justice Winteringham delivered her decision following a lengthy Supreme Court trial.

Kelvin Alphonse was charged with Aggravated Assault, Discharging a Firearm with Intent to Wound or Disfigure, Unlawfully Discharging a Firearm, Careless use of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, and Use of a Firearm while committing an Indicatable Offence.

Alphonse is due back in court on August 8th for a Pre-sentence report.

Quesnel RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired on the Red Bluff reserve back in January of 2016.

Upon arrival, police say they located an injured female, who was first taken to G.R. Baker Hospital in Quesnel before being transferred to Vancouver in serious condition.
