Quesnel Bull Rider Dominates In Bella Coola

A Quesnel cowboy was the big winner at the BC Rodeo Association’s stop in Bella Coola over the long weekend.

Denton Spiers won the Bull Riding on both days.

He was the only one to cover his bull on Saturday.

An 81 on “Canadian Renegade” earned him 955 dollars and change and he picked up another 413 dollars for an 82 on “Triple Threat” on Sunday.

Quesnel’s Perri-Lynn Leneve won the Barrel Racing on both days for 764 dollars.

Steve Loyd, also from Quesnel, was the runner-up in the Tie Down Roping on Sunday and earned a 1-2 split in the Team Roping along with Troy Gerard from Savona.

They were tied with Myles King from Williams Lake and his partner.

Ty Lytton from 100 Mile House and his partner won the Team Roping on Saturday.
