Chung Returns to Quesnel after completing bike ride in Croatia for Wounded Warriors

It was an opportunity of a lifetime to help out Wounded Warriors Canada.

From June 8th to 16th Quesnel’s Lindsay Chung went on a 9-day fundraising bike ride in Croatia that took her through areas where the battle of Medak Pocket took place in 1993.

“We had a tough climb biking and then we got our first view of the Adriatic Sea,” says Chung of the eye-opening adventure that was not only physical but emotional as well.

“It was quite a steep and curvy downhill road, and you have a rock face on the one side and then just this absolutely stunning view of the bluest sea on your other side.”

Chung’s goal was to raise $4,000 for Wounded Warriors and she surpassed that by $300.

This September Chung will be an ambassador for and participant in the Canada Army Run in Ottawa that raises funds for Solider On and Support Our Troops.

“We’ve also just found out that the ride for 2019 is going to be in Normandy,” says Chung.

“It will start at Dieppe and end at Judo Beach so I’d love to be part of this Battlefield Bike Ride again.”
