Bridge Lake Hosting Rodeo Action

Stampede action is taking place in Bridge Lake June 30.

Nearly 100 entrants will compete in the 69th annual Bridge Lake Stampede Rodeo with events including bareback, saddle bronc, calf roping, team roping, barrel racing and many more. The day will also feature the tug of war and the  pig scramble,  which sees kids under 12 try to catch a pig and win a $50 prize.

“It was just a community picnic originally ,” says Jamie Law.

“It started becoming more and more. It’s grown since then and we still try to keep it community oriented-it’s not a professional rodeo, it’s an amateur rodeo.”

The Rodeo starts at noon just off highway 24 near bridge lake store. Thing will wind up in the evening with entertainment and a free dance.
